Dieseling a pellet rifle?

I was doing a little bit of reading up on pellet rifles and I heard of in intresting idea. The idea was to fill the skirt of the pellet with some king of oil and when shot, the oil will ignite and increase the velocity of the gun. Does this really work, and what kind of oils can be used.
