Problem with my cats eye?

My indoor cat has a problem wih his eye. He keeps blinking more than normal and his eye is alot redder than his other one (which is fine) i am having to clean it every 1-2hours as a green runney discharge is comeing from the courner which sometimes goes hard. I can not take him to the vets as its bank holiday and they are shut. What can i do?
