Heir to an estate, but uming her debt what do I do?

I am the heir to my godmothers estate but I am not the executor of the estate, I am simply named in the will to receive a percentage. she has several acres of land that has not had the taxes paid for over 19 years, so now there are $18,000 in taxes, up keep and penalties, am I responsible for that? if so how can I get out of it?
