My mom is angry as hell with me. I don't know what to do.?

I got a hickey and now my mom is pissed of at me. She doesn't trust me anymore. She won't allow me to have a boyfriend anymore. She won't let me even talk to him. She won't talk to me or look at me. I don't know what to say or what to do. I'll be 17 next month and my mom is a reasonable person. I didn't think making out would cause her to react so harshly. Can anyone tell me why my mom would react this way? Is there anything I can say/do so that she will trust me enough to hang out with him again or at least let me talk to him?
