What are some ways color blindness limit people?

My friend had problems doing a chemistry degree as the practicals frequently require you to distinguish colour changes. It can also cause people to make some really bad choices of clothes. Some of it depends on what colours you have problems telling teh difference between. I believe more men than women are red/green colour blind. My friend had more problems with blue /green.
