My freshwater fish tank has brown slime on EVERYTHING is it bad?

Brown algae bloom. Yes wash the plants and rinse them. rub it off the inside and do a water change. It is very common at the 1- 3 month stage of a new tank. I ume you have a good filter if not then that would help dramatically. Also better lighting, good lighting will kill this algae unlike the green type. The pleco is great but it can't eat it all. The cure is adequate light, oxygen and low nitrate levels
